Akshata Murty accompanied Rishi Sunak during his last speech as UK PM

The red, white, and blue chevron gown worn by Akshata Murty was recognised as the 395-pound (about Rs. 42,000) Lina Dress designed by Omi Na Na.

After the Labour Party humiliated her husband Rishi Sunak in the UK elections, Akshata Murty supported him as he made his farewell address outside 10 Downing Street. Social media was obsessing on Ms. Murty's outfit even though the main conversation points were the results and the future of the Conservative Party.

Her 395-pound (Rs 42,000) red, white, and blue chevron gown caught a lot of attention. It was designed by Omi Na Na. Remarks were made about everything from the price tag to the design and colour scheme. Even though she was in the background, her attire aroused curiosity. Some speculated that her daring wardrobe choice, which included the UK flag's colours, was a calculated move to subtly express the nation's shifting political dynamics.

"Akshata Murty looks stunning for the occasion in her dress. *Chef's kiss* is the multi-layered symbolism, a user commented on social media site X. Not every response, though, was favourable. Some users wondered if Mr. Sunak's speech was intentionally being distracted by the clothing. 

One user wondered, “a deliberate attempt to distract from Sunak's speech,” while another echoed this sentiment, saying, “Akshata desperately trying to draw the attention away from her husband in her awful dress”.

Someone joked that "it looked like she was disguising herself as a zebra” while another comment read, “That dress is a distress signal and cry for help” .

Noting that Akshata Sunak's outfit cost 395 pounds, one user brought attention to the clothing's price, saying she doubted she would ever wear it again. My entire family could eat for more than a month with that money.
