MELANIA TRUMP has come under fire for wearing sunglasses during D-day celebration but a fashion psychologist has explained the fashion choice.

The First Lady was labelled “disrespectful” and “rude” by social media users after she was photographed wearing shades in France last week. But fashion psychologist Dawnn Karen believes she uses them as a shield. Ms Karen claimed Melania can use fashion accessories to shield herself from public scrutiny.

While analysing Melania’s outfit at her UK visit to the Queen, Ms Karen said she uses items as “armour” as she has been bullied in the past.

Ms Karen, CEO of Fashion Psychology Success, told MirrorOnline: “She tends to wear sunglasses and hats to shield herself from the public eye. As she's stated in previous interviews, she often feels as though she is being bullied.

“I believe that the hat serves as armour of some sort. When she's looking out into the audience, she cannot see the entire crowd due to her sunglasses or her hat."

The former model has said before she could be “the most bullied person” in the world during a TV interview with Good Morning America.

She added she is at least one of them judging by “what people are saying about me”.

The wife of US President Donald Trump has come under a great deal of scrutiny in the past for her outfits.

Before her state visit to the UK, Melania was spotted in a dress covered in London landmarks.

She later wore a blouse with printed military medals which was likely to have been a subtle tribute the D-day celebrations.

She was photographed wearing white and navy while visiting the Queen which is said to convey “integrity and trust”.

Ms Karen said: “Her wearing white - this white dress coat - is symbolic of integrity. I believe that is what she is trying to convey alongside the president.

“Also, she has hints of blue, which is for trust. It's this notion of integrity and trust, which is what she's trying to use to offset Donald Trump's remarks regarding particular individuals.”
