Dad faces life behind bars after leaving tiny baby infested with maggots to ROT in swing

A VILE dad who left his tiny baby boy to rot in a swing faces life behind bars after he was found guilty for murder.

Zachary Koehn, 29, was convicted of murder and child endangerment after his three–month–old son, Sterling, was left to rot in a baby swing.

The sicko dad was arrested last year after officers sound the tragic tot’s body infested with maggots.

Authorities said the child, who was found in Koehn’s parents home in Alta Vista, Iowa, suffered immensely as lies swarmed him and lay eggs in his in his body, which later hatched, while he was still alive.

They also claimed faeces in Sterling’s nappy also led him to develop an E.coli infection.

Horrific photos shown to the jury showed the dead child had bled from the mouth and was laying with his eyes open.

An autopsy later determined the infant died of malnutrition, dehydration and infection.

Kohen and the tot’s mum, Cheyanne Harris, were both charged with his death.

Harris, 21, is yet to stand trial.

Koehn will be sentenced at a later date.

He is expected to be jailed for life without parole.

Daily Star Online previously reported how deranged Colorado dad Chris Watts, 33, pleaded guilty to the grizzly murders of his pregnant wife Shannan and their two young daughters.

Watts had reported his wife and girls Bella, 4, and Celeste, 3, as missing on August 13, from their home in Colorado.
