MUMBAI: The Shivaji Nagar police on Sunday arrested a 23-year-old man for stabbing his friend to death after the deceased allegedly taunted him over his new hairstyle.
Kaleem Razzaque, a Baiganwadi resident, was arrested on the charges of murdering Hussain Shaikh, 25, on Saturday. According to the police, Razzaque went for a hair cut and later met Shaikh who was amused at the way Razzaque had cut his hair. Shaikh even made fun of his new hair colour.
"The deceased then asked Razzaque how much he had splurged for his weird looks. After Shaikh's repeated taunts, Razzque got irritated. The accused then pulled out a knife and stabbed Shaikh several times," a policeman said. After the incident, Razzaque fled from the spot. Shaikh was rushed to hospital where he died. Razzaque was arrested on Sunday while he was returning from Navi Mumbai. He wanted to catch a train from LTT to flee the city.
