With Nokia 8 being expected to be launched at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 in Barcelona in a few days, the smartphone has been listed by a Chinese retailer named JD.com on their website. The Nokia 8 is up for pre-registration and JD.com has listed the Nokia 8 for CNY 3,188, which translates roughly into Rs 31,000.
The Nokia 8 was spotted in two colours in the listings, which are black and grey.
With the event slotted by HMD Global (which will manufacture, sell and promote Nokia branded smartphones) on Sunday, we can expect the Nokia 8 to be announced at the MWC 2017.
The images accompanied in the online listing appeared to show concept renders of a Nokia smartphone with almost a bezel-less display.
The HMD Global-made Nokia 8 is expected to be a flagship smartphone that would be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC. The slim-bezel display seen, as seen in the listed photos of JD.com, shows the Nokia 8 to be a 5.7-inch display screen with a super AMOLED panel and a screen resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels.
The rear camera has a big module and is likely to house a 24-megapixel sensor with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), and there have been isolated rumours of HMD Global using Carl Zeiss optics. Also, the Nokia 8 is expected to feature 4GB of RAM, and 64GB/128GB of internal storage. Other specifications of the Nokia 8 include a 12MP front camera, expandable storage by up to 256GB and Android Nougat OS.
However, no further specifications and images of the Nokia 8 is available hence its credibility remains doubtful.
For the MWC 2017, HMD Global is widely expected to bring back the refresh of the Nokia 3310 feature phone. Other Nokia phones expected to debut at the MWC 2017, later this week include the Nokia P1 smartphone alongside two budget offerings - the Nokia 3 and Nokia 5.
Meanwhile, the Nokia 6, the smartphone touted as the comeback device for Nokia, is also expected to see global availability details out at the MWC as well.
