Peter Fouche was famous in Ukraine for saving the lives of hundreds of soldiers |
Front-line combat medical worker Peter Fouche, a British volunteer who saved the lives of over 200 soldiers in Ukraine, has died.
Fouche, a Fulham native and former cab driver and carpenter in west London, has been aiding the Ukrainian Army in Donbas since 2022. According to the news article, after taking his pledge, he formally enlisted in the Ukrainian military in January 2024 as a doctor.
His fifteen-year-old daughter, Nicole, was left behind when the news of his death was confirmed earlier today. The 'hero' Fouche, whose 'legacy of bravery and compassion' will not be forgotten, has received an outpouring of support.
In a social media message, his charity Project Konstantin said: "There are no words to describe Pete's life. There are no words or sentiments that can adequately express how much he meant to all of us. Pete's unshakable dedication, boundless compassion, and unflinching commitment to Ukraine and its people have left an indelible mark on the countless lives he touched."
"His gallantry had no limits. He actively participated in saving over 200 wounded Ukrainian soldiers, evacuating citizens from the most perilous frontline locations, and delivering humanitarian aid to those towns and cities. Pete's bravery and selflessness in the face of peril were truly amazing, and his actions will live on in our hearts forever."
The corporation, which was created in 2022, provides cars, drones, uniforms, and food to Ukrainian soldiers.
