Darian Helm, 23, was charged with trying to solicit sex from a nine-year-old girl in exchange for ice cream

A suspected pedophile told a nine year-old girl he’d give her vanilla ice cream if she let him sexually abuse her, police said. Darian Helm, 23, reportedly used Snapchat to offer the girl ‘vanilla ice cream’ in exchange for ‘sexual intercourse’ in Dickinson, Tennessee, according to court documents. Police said Helm arraigned to meet the girl on Sunday at the parking lot of Thunder Alley, a bowling center in Dickson, where he ‘promised’ to bring her the frozen treat. A search through the girl’s phone revealed that Helms had allegedly been sexting her as well as sending messages through Snapchat.


When Helm arrived at the bowling alley just as he reportedly said he would, he was confronted by police who were waiting there for him. Police have not said how they uncovered and stopped Helm’s alleged sex abuse plot. Authorities said they found a container of vanilla ice cream in his car’s cup holder and he was arrested after police identified him through a video he sent the girl. Helm is charged with human trafficking for sexual servitude, solicitation of sexual exploitation of a minor and solicitations of a minor, according to Fox 17. He was booked at the Dickson County Jail and held on an $180,000 bond.
