The President was reportedly on his way to the commemoration ceremony for Armistice Day, 100 years after the end of World War One at the Arc de Triomphe, when the protesters jumped in front of his motorcade.
They were detained by security and police, with one woman pushed face down on the road as spectators looked on in surprise.
However, one woman managed to get within a few meters of the convoy carrying the president, which is likely to raise questions about security at the event.
There appeared to be at least two protestors and the group Femen, who is known for launching nude and topless demonstrations at high profile events, quickly claimed responsibility on Twitter.
The radial feminist outfit is based in Paris and frequently carries out shock protests against perceived sexism, racism, homophobia and other social and political issues.
Yesterday, the group staged a shocking topless protest at a World War One remembrance ceremony, also near the Arc de Triomphe in the French capital.
They had “Fake Peacemakers” written on their chests and chanted “welcome war criminals” – referencing the visiting leaders Donald Trump and Angela Merkel.
Cops moved in to contain the situation, dragging the bare-breasted women away and loading them into police vans.
